FAQ: Battle Systems™ Sci-fi Modular Terrain
For the most up-to-date information about the status of our project, check our project updates on Kickstarter!

Exactly how heavy is this?

As an example the Stronghold pledge, without stretch goals, would weigh a little under 3 kg.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:23

Why is this in British pounds and not in US dollars?

We are based in the UK so all transactions are in British pounds.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:23

How does the shipping work?

We are based in the UK but much of our custom comes from abroad. Due to the hefty weight of this product (up to 5 kg including stretch goals!) we have been forced to charge some postage. We’ve kept it as low as we can and are absorbing some of the cost ourselves. You are responsible for any import taxes and duties that may occur at your end.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

How is the postage affected if I buy mixed pledges?

You will need to add together the postage costs of each pledge.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

Is there a retailer discount?

Not for this particular campaign.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

How do I include add-ons? There doesn't seem to be a button for it?

Kickstarter doesn’t have a facility for add-ons but there is a work around. Just add up the total of your pledge, including add-ons and pledge that. After the campaign ends we’ll send you a pledge manager and you can tell us what you want.

Last updated: November 18, 2013 13:24

Can I use PayPal?

Kickstarter doesn’t have an option for PayPal so we will attempt to include it in the pledge manager we will send out after the campaign. To receive the pledge manager you will need to pledge £1. You can then tell us what you want and pay the full amount with PayPal.

Is it modular or fixed to set designs?

It’s completely modular, even the floor tiles can be arranged any way you want.

What's it made of?

The terrain is pre-punched, 1.7mm thick card, printed in a high quality finish on both sides.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:21

What size are the floor tiles?

The standard large tile is 20cm x 20cm (approx. 8 inch x 8 inch). It has 25mm squares on it. The Stronghold pledge has 9 tiles which can make a 2 foot x 2 foot square.

Last updated: November 02, 2013 12:22

What size are the squares on the floor tiles?

25mm

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:21

Can I use this terrain for 30mm scale systems?

Yes you can, it should work comfortably for any system from 25-30mm scale.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:23

I like your multi-level aspect but I prefer to play games such as Space Hulk which is single level.

The Station pledge is the best option for you, it has the same footfall as the Stronghold pledge but none of the kit needed to build multi-levels.

Last updated: November 05, 2013 01:49

I love your stuff but i'm on a really tight budget.

The Outpost pledge is small but perfectly formed. It is single level rather than multi-level but will still give you the feel of the larger sets. You could even throw in a few add-ons.

Last updated: November 05, 2013 01:55

How stable is this? How is it anchored down?

It is very stable, the clips keep everything nice and sturdy. Also, the weight of the terrain means it sits on the floor panels without needing to be anchored.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:23

Where did you get those storage boxes? How large are they?

The boxes are of a sturdy clear plastic and measure L 35cm x W 21cm x H 14cm which fits up to 52 assembled Walls, Doors and Hangers and are available in any good stationary shop for about £8 for large size and £4 for small. The small ones are the same size except only 7cm high and are great for assembled room items and clips.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

What's the big deal with the ramps? Why would I want so many?

The ramps are the basis of every wall and the assorted shapes help you make more complex structures such as corners, dead ends in corridors and towers. We don’t think you can have too many.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

How are the stretch goals affected if I buy two or more sets?

If you buy two sets, you will get two times the stretch goals, if you buy 3 sets you will get 3 times the stretch goals and so on.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

I really like this but I think I'll wait until it's in the shops.

We think you should jump on board as early as possible for two reasons:

  • You will get much more from the Kickstarter than you will in a retail box.

  • Without your support on Kickstarter it might never reach the shops!

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

Is this downloadable, like your previous stuff?

No, this terrain is 100% physical, pre-punched card.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

This looks awesome but I prefer fantasy. Will you be making anything like that soon?

If this Kickstarter campaign is a success we have several new projects lined up including fantasy terrain.

Last updated: November 01, 2013 13:30

I have a list of demands. The first is for a solid gold toilet.

Erm…

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
